Donald Trump Would Find It ‘Despicable’ Had Vladimir Putin Indeed Killed Journalists
Just last week, during the annual news conference, Russian President Validimir Putin praised the real estate mosgul Donald Trump stating, "He is a bright and talented person without any doubt, an outstanding and talented personality" as per CNN's report.
In response to Putin's praise the Republican front runner Donald Trump made the headlines as he defended Valdimir Putin against ongoing speculations that Putin is behind numerous journalist killings in Russia. As per The Guardian, the Committee to Project journalists released a report that at least 36 journalist have been killed since 1993.
As per Huffington Post, during Trump's interview on ABC's "This Week", Trump defended Russia's President Valdimir Putin stating that there is no evidence that could prove that Putin is responsible for the deaths of several journalists in Russia.
"In all fairness to Putin, you're saying he killed people -- I haven't seen that," Trump told host George Stephanopoulos. "I don't know that he has. Have you been able to prove that? Do you know the names of the reporters that he's killed?"
In addition to his statement, Trump told "This Week" that he is not in favor of the thought that Putin is responsible for the killings. He then described it as "despicable" if Putin is indeed responsible for their death.
"But I haven't seen any evidence that he killed anybody, in terms of reporters,"
Trump also told "This Week" that "getting along" with Russia can benefit the United States in a positive way.
"If Putin respects me, and if Putin wants to call me brilliant and other things that he said which were, frankly, very nice, I'll accept that and I'll accept that on behalf of our country, because if we get along well with Russia, that's a positive thing, George, not a negative thing."
During one of Trump's interview just this Sunday, The Guardian reported that Trump is more focused on working closely with Russia as it would benefit the US in numerous ways. Trump then mentioned that Obama "doesn't get along" with Putin thus putting the US in a difficult situation.
"Obama doesn't get along with Putin, Putin can't stand our president and it's causing us difficulty and frankly, I said it a long time ago, if Russia wants to bomb the hell out of Isis and join us in that effort, then I'm absolutely fine with it. I think that's an asset not a liability."
