Colin Kaepernick Sexual Abuse Case: 49ers QB, Two Other NFL Players Being Investigated for Incident with Woman
Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback, and two other NFL players are being investigated by Miami police for an incident with a woman that allegedly occurred on April 1.
As of right now, there are no charges against the men. Earlier Thursday, it was thought to be a sexual assault investigation, but now it is just being called an allegation by the Miami Police Department.
The incident allegedly occurred at the Viceroy hotel in downtown Miami. The two other listed "involved persons" are also NFL players, Ricardo Lockett (Seattle Seahawks) and Quinton Patton (49ers).
The woman tells police she has a sexual past with Kaepernick. She joined the three men at the Viceroy on April 1 to watch a basketball game. Lockett rents a residence inside the hotel.
She then started making the men drinks and having them take shots. She was then convinced to "hit" a marijuana bong. This caused her to feel lightheaded and she headed to a bedroom to lie down.
According to the report, "Mr. Kaepernick came behind her into the bedroom and started kissing her. Mr. Kaepernick started to undress her. She got completely naked. Mr. Kaepernick told her that he was going to be right back and left the bedroom. They did not have sex."
The woman then told police that the other two men opened the door to "peek inside." This supposedly surprised and angered her and she said: "What are you doing? Where is Colin? Get out." The victim does not remember saying that and woke up in a hospital room, but didn't know how she got there.
The Miami Police Department doesn't know yet if a rape examination was conducted on the woman.
The 49ers are aware of the allegations which is being handled by the Special Victims Office.
