Jamie Foxx may have blamed it on the alcohol but Amanda Bynes is blaming it on the pot.

Amanda's mother, Lynn Bynes, went on record with E! news to explain that her daughter's erratic and bizarre behavior last year was all due to her marijuana use.

"[Amanda] is very sorry for all the hurtful tweets, statements and actions that occurred while she was under the influence of marijuana," Lynn said.

Bynes's past odd behavior includes her twitter rampage where she called just about every celebrity ugly, shaving her head, getting plastic surgery to look more like rapper Tyga's girlfriend Black Chyna, her twitter obsession with rapper Drake, tossing a bong out her NY apartment, and of course her infamous act of committing arson on a complete stranger's driveway. Phew, that was a lot.

What's most shocking is that both Lynn and Amanda's attorney Tamar Arminak claim that the 28-year-old actress has never abused hard drugs or alcohol and that she was never diagnosed with schizophrenia as reports have previously stated.

"Amanda currently is on zero medication," Tamar Arminak told People Magazine.

"For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it. She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she's been marijuana-free for the past nine months."

Arminak continued, "She continues to undergo outpatient therapy several times a week. Her family is closely involved with her day-to-day life, but they try to give her as much autonomy as possible. She's doing extremely well. Her primary focus is bonding with her family and being a student."

Currently, Bynes studies at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Orange County. Her most recent outing was her trip to San Lucas, Mexico where she celebrated her 28th birthday with her family.
