Several celebrities gathered on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday in honor of lauded director Quentin Tarantino receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker will now see his name alongside the likes of Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Oliver Stone on the iconic stretch of sidewalk outside the TCL Chinese Theater.

"Wow, I guess I must have become a big shot," Tarantino said to the crowd Monday. He reminisced about previous visits to the Walk of Fame, most notably when he came to see the James Bond film "Diamonds are Forever".

"The line went all the way down the block and at one point, as I stood in that line, I stood right here," he said.

Many of the director's friends and colleagues stood amongst a sea of devoted fans. Zoe Bell, Tim Roth, Pam Grier, Demian Bichir, Clifton Collins Jr., James Parks, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Craig Stark and Edgar Wright were all in attendance.

One of the most notable attendees was longtime collaborator Samuel L. Jackson, who has appeared in a majority of Tarantino's films.

"Knowing what kind of cinephile he is, the reverence he holds for these names, I was very, very proud the day I got my star and I know what it means to him, cause of what he thinks and how he reveres this business and the art of filmmaking," Jackson said on Monday. "There aren't a lot of people in this business who still look at filmmaking the way Quentin does and the purity of what it is and what it should be."

Tarantino's ninth and latest film, "The Hateful Eight," is already receiving rave reviews from critics, and it has garnered a Golden Globe nomination. It will be released in theaters on Friday, Dec. 25.
