The marketing team for X-Men: Days of Future Past is looking to give you a history lesson, but odds are you didn't learn about this stuff in school.

20th Century Fox recently released a video implicating Magneto's involvement in the infamous assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Now they have put out another clip surveying several other major historical events that may have unfolded somewhat differently then what we've read about in textbooks.

"Humanity has been shaped by number of pivotal moments throughout history, but the accepted versions of this events leaves out a quiet battle that has raged for decades," says the video's narrator. "A battle between individuals with extraordinary gifts, and those that seek to eradicate them."

The video is talking about mutants, obviously, and they've apparently been a hidden factor in a number of key events. The 1984 Soviet Union Chernobyl power plant explosion for example. Judging by the photo, it's responsible for future X-Men member Colossus' metal mutation. And Guantanamo Bay is not only a prison for terrorists. It was also used to house mutants.

Fan reaction to Fox's latest marketing of Days of Future Past seems overwhelmingly positive. This, combined with the hope that this latest movie will see the same success as the Bryan Singer's original two X-men movies, will probably make Days of Future Past a major boxoffice success.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will feature Hugh Jackman reprising his now iconic role as Wolverine. He will join co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellen, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult. Halle Berry and Peter Dinklage in what Singer promises to be the biggest X-men film to date.

Days of Future Past hits theaters of May 23.
