New York City is the place to be on New Year's eve 2015.

The New York Times reports from Broadway shows to rock bands to rap artists to stand-up comedians, they all will be on full display all across town in ringing in the new year.

Shows

On the comedic front, Sandra Bernhard takes the stage at Joe's Pub for a version of her "Feel the Bernhard" show, billed as a set of her quick-witted, politically sharp comedy that's also "a revolution, Sandy style." Bernhard plays back to back shows commencing at 9 p.m.

In addition, Dave Attell, Todd Barry, Michael Che, Keith Robinson, Michelle Wolf, Greg Rogell, Kevin Brennan, Dov Davidoff, Ardie Fuqua and Liza Treyger are all slated to take the stage for an unforgettable night of standup at the legendary Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village.

Music

On the music scene, Jimmy Buffett and Huey Lewis and the News headline a night of nonstop country and rock & roll performances sure to include such classics "Heart of Rock n Roll" and "Hip to Be Square" at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Not far away, the sultry Macy Gray takes the Iridium Nightclub stage for a night of smooth jazz and soulful blues, where guests can also take advantage of a package upgrade that allows them and an escort to watch the ball drop in Times Square.

On the jazz front, legendary trombonist Craig Harris takes the stage at Sistas' Place in Brooklyn just before midnight and on the rap front Mykki Blanco, Cakes Da Killa and Mike Q all come together to perform at the Mercury Lounge.

In Times Square, all around 42nd Street near where the iconic ball drop is historically held, venues from the AMC Theatre to Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum to the Hyatt Times Square Hotel will be hosting some of the night's biggest parties just a stone's throw away from where history will again be made.

The official ball drop will again be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, who also serves as host of "American Idol."
