‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 9 Spoilers: Robertson Family Kicks Off 9-Episode Show in January Amid Reed Robertson’s Engagement
The Robertson family will kick off their nine-episode "Duck Dynasty" Season 9 this January. But before the upcoming season premiere, the family will celebrate the engagement of Reed Robertson to his girlfriend, Brighton Thompson. The news was announced on Instagram on Dec. 22.
The 20-year-old son of Jase and Missy Robertson of the famous "Duck Dynasty" series proposed to his girlfriend during a family trip to New York City. According to ABC News, the proposal happened in Central park, where Reed got down on one knee and popped the question with a three-carat diamond ring, which had been a family heirloom.
"I couldn't be more excited to marry this amazing woman," he captioned the photo he shared on Instagram. "My fiancé is a babe in every way." While Thompson wrote her own post, "This is my fiancé Reed, he told me he loves me so much he's giving me his last name. And I said YES!"
The newly engaged couple designed the one-of-a-kind setting together in Nashville this past fall. However, 19-year-old Thompson didn't see the finished product until Reed proposed on Dec. 22. And while the lovebirds worked together to create the perfect ring, Thompson was still taken by surprised by Reed's holiday proposal.
"I wanted to do it before Christmas because I knew she thought it was happening then, and I wanted to make sure she was surprised," Reed told People. "We are so excited to start our lives and our family together as we enjoy this unforgettable period of time."
