Welcome all Alien film fans to more updates on Prometheus, the prequel-sequel.

The returning stars are Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw, and Michael Fassbender's David, the android. Sigourney Weaver, the original Ellen Ripley, has also been confirmed as well as some returning stars from the Alien universe, FANGORIA reports.

Ridley Scott once again will helm and write the tentatively titled Prometheus 2 sequel. Also on board penning the script is Michael Green. Green is no stranger to science fiction, as well heroic stories; he was on the team of writers that wrote the Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds, as well as TV's Smallville and Heroes. The writer is also writing the new Blade Runner film with Scott, Entertainment Weekly reports.

What is Prometheus 2's story you ask? At this point, there will be Weaver's Ripley, who is rumored to be a clone, as well as multiple Fassbender androids, returning Alien alumni, and a time travel element.

The sequel was expected to have a March 2016 release date, but due to the anticipation of the film, 20 Century Fox has made the sequel its top priority. Prometheus made $400 million worldwide. Fox is expected to fast-track it to as early as 2015. Filming of the sequel will take place in the fall of this year after Scott gives Fox Exodus: Gods and Kings, the story of Moses, scheduled for December 2014.

According to FANGORIA, Weaver, 64, has been training for the Ripley role once more. While Scott was filming Exodus, which also stars Weaver, they were having secretive production meetings about the project on a boat in international waters, far from microphones and cameras.

What Culture suggests 10 ways that the Prometheus 2 script can be fixed: they vary from working on the consistency and continuity in writing, being more original and refraining from copying other science-fiction films or genres and perhaps being more "alien-y," to focusing in on one good idea.
