Kanye West marked the festive New Year's eve arrival to surprise release his new song "Facts" on Thursday.

News of the occurrence was first made by wife Kim Kardashian, who took to Twitter to herald "Facts" arrival.

Rolling Stone reports the tune blends a host of current events and jazzy punchlines, mercilessly ripping the likes of Nike and questioning if anyone feels bad for the beleaguered Bill Cosby.

In the midst of it all, West reminds fans "I stuck to my roots, I'm like Jimmy Fallon."

It's unclear if the song will actually appear on West's upcoming album, "Swish," for which he has yet to publicly announce a release date. In "Facts," West makes mention of the uncertainty about the album, rhyming, "I ain't drop the album/But the shoes went platinum."

With the release of "Facts," West has now started a New Year's tradition for new music. Last year, he released "Only One," the minimal, critically-acclaimed track featuring Paul McCartney on keyboards to start the year.

West last released new music in October when he released two songs on Soundcloud: a new version of his 808s & Heartbreak opener "Say You Will," which featured violinist-singer Caroline Shaw, and his take on the Weeknd's "Tell Your Friends."

It's been a busy but, no doubt, fulfilling stretch for West, who along with Kardashian just welcomed the couple's second child.

Saint West was born on Dec. 5 and there is already talk Kardashian is planning a family trip to Jerusalem to have him baptized the same way the couple did with daughter North.

"She wants to take Saint to Jerusalem to get baptized like they did with Nori," said a source, adding that the trip will include West and North and the family will have the ceremony conducted at the Armenian St. James Cathedral in Jerusalem's Old City.
