Xur is back for the new year, and to help Destiny players celebrate 2016 he is offering new exotic weapons and upgrades for purchase.

This weekend, Xur can be found in the Tower, to the right of the Vanguard, next to the Abandoned Quest Kiosk. He will remain in that location until Sunday at 5 a.m. ET.

Xur is once again offering an exotic gun for purchase. This weekend, he will sell the Invective shotgun for 23 Strange Coins. The weapon can be fired in full automatic mode, and on its final round, it will deal bonus damage to enemies. Selected perks also help this gun so it can be drawn incredibly fast, fired more stably and gain increased range. Additionally, the gun will regenerate ammunition over time.

Xur will sell the Empyrean Bellicose Titan Helmet for 13 Strange Coins. The helmet has a defense rating of 280/310, and stats of 31/31 for light, 35/60 for intellect, 35/60 for discipline and 35/60 for strength. When equipped, the helmet can help players aim their weapons while they are in the air by holding them in place for a moment for a more accurate shot. When collecting Orbs while the player's Super is full, the melee ability will be recharged. Perks while this helmet is equipped can offer bonus grenade energy on Orb pickups, shield recovery immediately after Orb pickups, and health replenishment when Orbs of Light are picked up.

Finally, the Starfire Protocol Warlock chest armor can be purchased from Xur for 13 Strange Coins. The chest armor has a defense rating of 280/310, along with stats of 31/31 for light, 46/78 for intellect, 46/124 for discipline and 46/78 for strength. The main perk given when this chest armor is equipped is an additional Fusion Grenade. Players will be better protected from arc burns, solar burns and void burns when using this armor. Players are also able to carry more special weapon ammo and heavy weapon ammo when the armor is equipped.
