Nick Carter added a new member to his family this weekend when he married girlfriend Lauren Kitt. Another family member, little brother Aaron Carter, however, could not make the ceremony.

According to a rep for Aaron, flight delays amidst a tight schedule caused him to miss Nick's wedding.

"Aaron had a contract to appear at the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C. before Nick set his wedding date," the rep told E! News. "Even though he was obligated to fulfill his contract, Aaron still wanted to make the wedding."

The 26-year-old apparently sought the help of an entire team to make sure he was able to attend both special events, but destiny and US Airways wasn't having it.

"There was a team of six people who worked to put together a plan to get him to Santa Barbara by the reception so he could at least participate in the celebration," the rep explained. "He was on his way when his US Airways plane experienced mechanical difficulties in Pittsburgh, and they became grounded there."

The Aaron's Party singer was reportedly disappointed that he didn't make it to the ceremony where his 34-year-old brother married Lauren, a fitness expert.

"So he never made it," the rep continued. "Aaron was legitimately busting his ass to make it to his brother's wedding. He felt awful and had every intention of being there."

Aaron even took to Instagram to share his frustration.

"Really pissed off that I missed my brothers wedding today...i hope he doesn't hate me .. I tried to get there... I'm sorry bro @nickcarter...#technicalProblems," he said in a caption.

Nick and Lauren got engaged a little bit more than a year ago in the Florida Keys. Their ceremony was held on Saturday in Santa Barbara at the Bacara Resort and Spa.

"Happiest day of my life 4-12-2014 I married my best friend and woman of my dreams. Lauren Kitt Carter honeymoon time!" Nick said via Twitter.
