Marc Anthony Rings in New Year With Jay Z, Beyoncé in Dominican Republican
Marc Anthony spent New Year's Eve celebrating in the Dominican Republic with powerhouse couple Jay Z and Beyoncé.
According to TMZ, the trio were all on hand for a beach party bash thrown at the Casa de Campo, with the two hip-hop stars showing up at around 3 a.m. to meet up with Jennifer Lopez's ex.
Security formed a ring around the stars as they took in the late night fireworks display and mingled for a few hours.
The last several weeks have been quite the time for Anthony, who recently launched a sports arm to his Magnus Media empire and signed newly acquired New York Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman as his first client.
Billboard reports the all-star pitcher's signing was part of a joint venture with baseball agency Praver Shapiro Sports Management, which also represents several other Latin players.
In a statement, Anthony later explained the launch of Magnus Sports was meant to fill a void that currently exists within the sports world.
"Baseball, like music, is an ingrained cultural passion for many Latinos throughout the world, and there's no shortage of amazing stars of Hispanic origin," Anthony said. "Despite that, until now there hasn't been an enterprise specifically designed to meet their needs. With Magnus Sports, we are changing the existing dynamics and building a new kind of Management Company that understands the culture and knows how to build big media brands."
Anthony launched Magnus Media earlier this year, installing longtime entertainment agent Michel Vega as its CEO. Based in Miami, Magnus includes management, film, TV and digital content, a record label, and a marketing division. Its roster currently includes Venezuelan duo Chino y Nacho and Cuban duo Gente de Zona.
The new Magnus Sports division will be jointly overseen by Vega and Praver Shapiro's Barry Praver and Scott Shapiro.
