The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) (CES) showroom officially opens to the public on Wednesday in Las Vegas, but the pre-show press conferences and announcements have already started.

New products, industry news and much more is expected from companies like LG, Samsung, Acer and others at CES.

Acer has a Windows 10 Mobile smartphone and an Android tablet coming soon, Tech Radar reports.

The Windows 10 Mobile phone from Acer will be called the Liquid Jade Primo. The new smartphone will have a 5.5 inch full-HD display, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a 21 megapixel (MP) rear camera. It will use an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor though.

The Liquid Jade Primo is a more stylish alternative to the Microsoft Lumia 950. The new smartphone will debut first in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in February for about $620, with other regions coming later.

Acer also has a new child-friendly tablet coming out in February. The Iconia One 8 will cost just $99.99, but it will also have just a 720p display and 1 GB of RAM. The tablet will run Android 5.1 Lollipop instead of Android Marshmallow, but this tablet is geared at kids with a child-friendly interface and parental controls.

Nvidia is making it easier for users to create a virtual reality-ready computer by announcing the requirements and components needed to run virtual reality programs and games.

Nvidia will certify products with a "VR-ready" badge meaning they are certified to run virtual reality programs and will perform without lagging. Nvidia has partnered with companies like Acer, Asus, Amazon, Newegg and MSI to certify components that will help users create a virtual reality computer.

Nvidia has some advanced requirements for virtual reality to run smoothly in 2016, including at least 8 GB of RAM and an Intel Core i5-4590 equivalent or greater processor. According to research, just 13 million PCs have the capabilities to run virtual reality.
