Paulina Rubio's mother, Susana Dosamantes, spilled the beans on the gender of the baby that the pop singer is expecting with partner Gerardo Bazúa.

According to TVyNovelas, the singer's mother revealed that Rubio, who announced her second pregnancy in December, is expecting another boy.

During an interview with Spanish-language program "Hoy," Dosamantes discussed her excitement over getting another grandchild.

"I found out just like everyone else. I was one of the first, and it is wonderful, a new boy," she explained.

She also dished on how the star and her older son Andrea Nicolás -- whom she had with ex-husband Nicolás Vallejo-Nájera -- are feeling about the upcoming addition to the family.

"The boy is very happy, Paulina is very happy to have her second son...we are going to have two," Dosamantes added.

The revelation comes as a surprise. The star announced the pregnancy in a December cover story for Hello magazine that featured the entire family. Rubio said in the story that she liked the "romantic idea of not knowing whether the baby is a boy or girl."

The Latina also revealed to the magazine that she didn't expect to get pregnant again, but enjoys the experience.

"My pregnancy is wanted and unexpected. I've always wanted to have more kids," Rubio said. "When I found out I was going to be a mom again, I felt I was a very lucky woman. It is wonderful to feel life in you. I enjoy pregnancy in every single way."

The magazine shared photos from the cover story on their Instagram account, including one of Rubio, Bazúa -- whom she met in 2013 after serving as a judge on "La Voz Mexico" -- and her son.

Rumors of the 44-year-old star's pregnancy spread after she performed on stage at the Grand Slam Party Latino in December.

At the event, the Mexican star wore a black and white leather dress that didn't do much to hide her growing baby bump.
