Shakira Stars in 'Try Everything' Theme Song for Disney's 'Zootopia'
Shakira's new "Try Everything" theme song for the Disney film "Zootopia" is everything you've come to expect from the acclaimed Colombia performer.
Co-written by Sia, Entertainment Weekly reports the tune boasts plenty of drums and a chorus that takes full advantage of her signature vocals. The song was first teased on the animated film's first full-length trailer, which dropped late last month.
For Shakira who also voices pop star Gazelle in the film the new single represents her first such release since her 2011 self-titled album.
With a cast that also includes the voice characters of Jason Bateman, JK Simmons, Octavia Spencer and Idris Elba, the film follows Judy Hopps' ("Once Upon A Time" star Ginnifer Goodwin) journey as a rookie police officer dedicated to making a name for herself as the first bunny on the fictional city of Zootopia's police force.
Desperate to prove her worth and earn her keep, in time Gazelle joins forces with a scam-artist fox named Nick Wilde (Bateman) to crack a crucial case.
Released on Dec. 31 by Disney Animation, the new trailer provides an illustration of what life might resemble in the fictional city of Zootopia. The zoo version of New York City features all sorts of different neighborhoods serving as a melting pot to various type of animals all peacefully residing there.
The film opens in theatres in March 4.
Meanwhile, Shakira was recently spotted hanging out with her partner Gerard Pique and her eldest son Milan in Paris. The 38-year-old pop diva and Pique both wore matching black sweaters as they mingled with friends.
Both the singer and her Spanish soccer star boyfriend share a Feb. 2 birthday, though Shakira is a decade older. The two-time Grammy winner marked the occasion by sporting a fur-collared coat, leather trousers, French booties and a beanie cap.
