Eva Longoria's Fiance Didn't Know Who She Was When They Met
Eva Longoria's new fiance had no idea who she was when the two first laid eyes on one another.
The Daily Mail reports the "Desperate Housewives" star recently told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that Jose Antonio Baston still hasn't seen her star in the series that arguably made her most famous.
"Somebody introduced us and he was like 'Uh,' which is great by the way," Longoria said of the first time they met. "Yeah, he's never known me as working. He's like, 'Oh so you're an actress?"'
As the two came to spend more time together, the man Longoria affectionately refers to as "Mr. Fancy Pants" vowed he would to see her in action on "Desperate Housewives."
"People come up to me all the time and he just doesn't really get it," Longoria added. "He's like 'They really like you.' Then he goes like, 'I'm gonna watch. I'm gonna watch. Everybody talks about it. I'm gonna watch.'"
When Baston finally did, Longoria recalled his commitment was short lived.
"He tries to watch, and, of course, I'm banging the gardener in the first season. And he's like, 'I don't want to watch,'" she said. "I was like 'Yeah, yeah let's jump to Season 5. That's when I was not sleeping with anybody."'
Longoria and Baston got engaged around Christmastime during a romantic trip to Dubai. But to hear her tell it, the two may be looking for a low profile way to celebrate the big day as it grows nearer.
"We've both been married so it's not as pomp and circumstance as I guess a first wedding," she said.
This marks the third union for Longoria, as she's previously been wedded to actor Tyler Christopher and NBA star Tony Parker.
"He is probably one of the first men I've dated that has been older and established and, basically, a grownup," she said of Baston. "It is so nice to be arm-in-arm with someone who is your equal."
