Super Smash Bros. 4 for the Wii U and 3DS is the fourth title in the beloved video game fighting series, with the 3DS version being the franchise's first portable game. The game which is being developed by Bandai Namco Games and Sora Ltd. is composed of a mixture of old and new characters like Mega Man, Little Mac and the Animal Crossing Villager. Nintendo has made a trend of tweaking their games to be more competitive since the first version released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1999.

The latest incarnation of the game was announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2011 and the two platforms have different release dates. Super Smash Bros. 4 for the Wii is scheduled for a winter release in time for the holiday season while the 3DS release is scheduled for the summer.

Amazon's pricing for Super Smash Bros. 4 for the Wii U is $59.96 while the 3DS version is priced at $39.99. Both are offered with Free Shipping, which will become available on Dec. 31, 2014.

The New Screenshots

The Wii U version has released a big batch of new screenshots and Nintendo has also released several new images for the 3DS as well. Yoshi, Toon Link, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard are among the characters featured in the screen-grabs.

  • The April 18 screenshot showed Yoshi and Diddy Kong with Isabelle on the Prism Tower.
  • Donkey Kong is shown in the April 17 screenshot fighting a number of enemies in Smash Run. The enemy, Tac, is on the left ready to take your power ups, which you can get back by defeating Tac.
  • April 16's screenshot has Wii Fit Trainer and Zero Suit Samus in the Wii Fit Studio.
  • Gerudo Valley is in its Flat Stage shape in the April 15 screenshot with no stage perils. The stage and music remain the same allowing you to create more stages in Flat Stage.
  • Greninja is shown on Palutena's Temple in the April 14 screenshot.
