Telemundo's 'Señora Acero' Confirmed for Season 3
Telemundo's popular telenovela "Señora Acero" has been confirmed for a third season, despite the shocking Season 2 finale on Jan. 11.
According to writer and creator Roberto Stopello, the telenovela will be returning for another season, even though Season 2 ended with the shocking death of the main character Sara Aguilar, played by Blanca Soto.
Stopello took to Twitter to confirm a new season and to reveal what will happen to the drug business now that the lead is dead.
"We will see you in the third one," he wrote.

Stopello made sure to ease the curiosity of fans questioning the future of Sara's drug business.
"To all of you that ask, with Sara gone, in the 3rd El Gallo and Salvador will take control of the business," he tweeted.

There is no word yet from Soto on her character's death, and, while people have been known to come back from the dead on Telemundo shows, her future in the telenovela is unclear.
According to Soap Opera Network, the Season 2 finale registered the show's best ratings to date. The episode ranked as the No. 1 program at the 10 p.m. slot among adults 18-49 and 18-34, regardless of the fact it is a Spanish-language television program.
The telenovela was also popular on various social media platforms, reaching over 22 million users on Facebook on the night of the finale.
"Señora Acero," produced by Argos Television for Telemundo, is only one of several dramas currently based on drug trafficking that air on Telemundo. Most of them feature production teams recognizable for similar work.
Stopello has previously worked on "La Reina del Sur," which starred Kate del Castillo as a head drug dealer in Spain. Carlos Villegas, who directs "Senora Acero," has also worked on "El Senor de los Cielos" with executive producers Joshua Mintz and Mariana Iskandarani.
