Celine Dion is definitely at the peak of her emotions this week after the passing of her husband, Rene Angélil, on Thursday. But the Canadian superstar is facing another heartbreaking news about her older brother Daniel, who is reportedly dying of throat, tongue and brain cancer. The devastating news came amid Dion's funeral preparations for her husband.

The reports on the prognosis of Dion's brother were confirmed by her representative, Kim Jakwerth, USA Today reported. According to the "Power of Love" songstress' sister Claudette, their 59-year-old brother Daniel has been hospitalized with cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. She also told Journal de Montreal that her brother's illness is a lot like Angélil's, and he may only have days to live.

"It could be any day now," an insider told People. "No one knows how long he has. She had heard that he might pass on Tuesday but he seems to be holding on."

Daniel is one of Dion's 13 siblings. The renowned singer is the youngest. The source also added that the situation has been hard for Celine because she's close to Daniel as well as to all her other siblings. She is also currently grieving the loss of her husband, Rene Angélil, who passed away at the age of 73 on Jan. 14, the eve of his 74th birthday, at their suburban home in Las Vegas following a years-long battle with throat cancer.

In line with Angélil's death, Dion shared a poignant tribute as well as the funeral plans for her husband, whom she married in 1994, on Facebook.

"He will be remembered as a gentle man, generous and kind, an unprecedented visionary, a modern Pygmalion, a Renaissance man," the tribute read. "All who had the privilege of knowing him and of working closely with him, whether personally or professionally, salute a leader and a man of great intelligence and wisdom."

It was also announced that as part of Angélil's final wishes, his funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, the cathedral where he married Dion almost 22 years ago, E! News noted. In addition, a wake will be held at a Chapel of Rest on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 2 p.m until 9 p.m. It will be followed by a religious service on Friday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.

A celebration of Angelil's life will also be held on Feb. 3 in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace Colosseum from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., New York Times has learned.
