"The Division" is currently one of the most awaited games in the market. After developer Ubisoft dropped plenty of details on the upcoming installment, a key detail stood out: the game is going to be played exclusively in Midtown Manhattan.

According to a report from Game Spot, the previews of "The Division" included parts of Brooklyn, so it's a surprise to find out that it will not be featured in the RPG's release.

To explain the team's decision to limit the playable area upon the launch of "The Division," creative director Magnus Jansen talked to the Examiner.com and delved a little bit into the storyline of the upcoming game.

"For 'Tom Clancy's The Division' we are going with Midtown Manhattan," Jansen said. "It is because of the 1 to 1 re-creation and the way the pandemic has [happened]. Basically, everything has been hit and there are no more resources because everyone tried to get out. There is no more gasoline in the cars, there is no traffic, you're on foot."

He added, "With the level of detail we have, doing Midtown Manhattan is a huge open-world experience and more than enough to sink your teeth into. It is a very sizable open-world game."

However, it's still possible to see other boroughs in the post-launch content for "The Division." While the team hasn't confirmed additional areas, there will be free updates and DLC. Ubisoft is already working on the additional content, according to Jansen in a separate interview with Game Spot.

Microsoft's Major Nelson also confirmed the Xbox One "Tom Clancy's The Division" Bundle for fans of the game who are still without the current generation console set. The package costs $399 and will include a full-game download of the title, plus a massive 1TB hard drive to collect as much games as the hardcore gamers want.

The Major Nelson blog also provided a short description of the upcoming game, revealing that it is set in the weeks that follow a pandemic in New York City. As the world spins into chaos "an autonomous unit of tactical agents" called The Division gets activated to save humanity.

"The Division" for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is slated for release on March 8. Before the official launch, a closed beta will be available on Jan. 28 for Xbox One players who pre-ordered the game while PlayStation 4 and PC players will follow with access on Jan. 29. The beta will only be until Jan. 31.
