Mary's brother came to court with urgent news about Scotland on the latest episode of "Reign."

In "No Exit," Bash (Torrance Coombs) gives Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) his grandmother's ring as a wedding ring, figuring they should try to make the best of their forced marriage.

Lola (Anna Poppelwell) and Lord Julian also tie the knot, which Lola is hoping will allow her to attribute her pregnancy to Julian instead of Francis (Tony Regbo), who is the true father of her child.

Meanwhile, Catherine (Megan Follows) keeps King Henry (Alan van Sprang)--who is slowly going mad--from the Pope's cardinal, who came to court to discuss France's rents and tendencies.

Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis deal with the cardinal instead, seeing as Henry is tied up on all fours in his bedroom.

Mary's half-brother James also arrives at court to retrieve his sister, claiming Scotland is rising against her French mother, Marie de Guise. He tells her they need more Scots in the government.

Francis begs Mary to wait until the deal with the cardinal is done to help Scotland, and Mary is angry that he's putting France first. Then after a visit with Bash, he realizes that he needs to put his wife first, even if it's politically undesirable. He decides that he and Mary will leave for Scotland as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Lola and Julian consummate their marriage on their wedding night, but Julian's insistence about Lola's dowry is raising suspicions about his financial situation.

Nostradamus (Rossif Sutherland) and Olivia (Yael Grobglas) are also having a passionate tryst. Nostradamus decides to run away with Olivia to Trinidad after he sees a vision of her dying. However, the queen doesn't want Nostradamus to leave the French court.

She puts a viper in Olivia's luggage to threaten Nostradmus into staying. Nostradmus then sends Olivia from the court and returns to the castle.

Francis then finds one of James' footmen carrying English gold, and has him tortured.

Francis tells Mary that a lot of Englishmen want her dead so James can rule. She brushes off the notion until the footman reveals that he had been paid by Englishmen to kill Mary on her trip back to Scotland.

Nevertheless, she still wants to go back to her home country. Francis locks her up in the tower to save her from probable death, and she tells him that she'll never forgive him if Scotland falls.

On the next episode, "Toy Soldiers," "Mary's uncle arrives at the castle and brings dire news about her mother, forcing Mary and Francis to make a tough choice about priorities. Meanwhile, Henry devises a destructive plan; and Bash and Kenna grow closer as they strengthen their forced union."
