'Rocket League' February 2016 Update to Introduce New 'Item Qualities'
There's a better "Rocket League" version coming soon that gamers will be excited about.
As the end of "Rocket League's" first season draws near, the competitive game's February patch will soon be providing players with exciting new updates, exclusive rewards and rare item tiers.
According to game developer Psyonix, as posted via Steam, "Bronze" Division players or those who have surpassed such feat in the Ranked Play ladder will be receiving rewards through Limited Edition Crowns.
These crowns come in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each player's reward will be dependent upon his or her highest Division rank on "Rocket League" Season 1, according to Game Zone.
"For example, if a player was 'Silver II' in 1v1 and 'Gold I' in 2v2," the update read, "the delivered Crown would be Gold."
In addition to the rewards, "Rocket League's" February patch will introduce gamers to "Item Qualities" where an Item's "Quality" tag and color will be determined when dropped.
New "Item" qualities to be introduced in the "Rocket League" February 2016 update include the following:
1. Common Items / Grey Color
These are stock items that players have been familiar with and have come to love.
2. Premium Items / Green Color
These items are only available via paid DLC.
3. Limited Items / Orange Color
These are seasonal items offered during promotional events (e.g. Halloween) for a limited amount of time.
4. Uncommon Item / Light Blue Color
This is a new item quality which showcases Toppers and Antennas. The item class will eventually become "uncommon" following completion of online-only matches.
In general, the drop-rate of "uncommon items" don't have fixed percentages like seasonal items. The "uncommon" item class will be more available as a gamer plays "Rocket League" longer. With each "Uncommon Item" earned or collected, time resets and a player starts over from the beginning.
Psyonix also reportedly teased its plans last month for "Rocket League's" 2016 DLC. Updates include new modes, Arenas, content and "plenty of other cool things to keep you coming back and happy." Psyonix's announcement said "Rocket League" will be available on Xbox One come February, according to IGN.
In addition to its "Rocket League" DLC updates, IGN also reported that Psyonix claimed its car soccer game earned nearly $50 million since its July release.
PC Games N listed "Rocket League on its best PC games list. Surely, many fans are at the edge of their seats waiting for the addictive game's updates.
