The major "Diablo 3" 2.4 update was a hotly anticipated release, but reports reveal the patch didn't quite live up to its expectations.

According to a report from Game Spot, one player posted a thread on the Battle.net forums, listing all the problems he encountered in the updated "Diablo 3." The report includes micro-stuttering, lag and frame drop problems throughout the game. A number of other players on the forum confirmed the presence of the various issues.

While the problems in the latest patch is frustrating to players, some can take comfort in the fact that developer Blizzard is at least aware of the issues and actively trying to provide a solution. Further down the threads, community manager Andrew Kauz responded and asked for more help in identifying the bugs.

"We've been unable to reproduce this internally so far, so let's see if we can find a pattern and identify what's going on," he wrote on the forums, saying more data could help the developers create a fix for the numerous bugs. Kauz proceeded to ask a number of questions such as platform, region, skills used and specifics on the performance issues.

Digital Foundry, a team that regularly checks hardware and software performance, also posted a video illustrating the issues found in the game.

While the issues that plague the game upon the release of patch 2.4 might make it difficult to focus on the positive features of the "Diablo 3" update, there are several additions that have the potential to wow the players as soon as Blizzard is able to fix the bugs.

A report from Kotaku outlined the best things to see in the latest edition of the game, most prominent of which is the Greyhollow Island. The brand new area offers a different perspective of the game with the introduction of various monsters and events.

The 24 new Set Dungeons are also slated to be a game changer in "Diablo 3". Players will have to collect the six complete pieces of a set and once they are able to achieve this, the Dungeon for that particular set will be unlocked.

There are also new items and legendaries that offer more power to the players, as well as cosmetics that include a cool "Diablo 2" throwback: the Stormshield. Other features of the new patch are more inventory spaces, rebirth and much more.

"Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls" for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is out now.
