Jessica Alba graced the cover of Australian Vogue's February issue, showing off a new, red-hot couture look.

The Daily Mail reports the 34-year-old "Sin City" star was the picture of elegance and sophistication, as she took time for the shoot from her busy schedule as one of Hollywood's most alluring leading ladies and her everyday life as a mother of two young children.

In between all those responsibilities, Alba incredibly still manages to find time to run her eco-friendly lifestyle and beauty products venture, The Honest Company.

Over the last four years, Alba has turned her emerging empire into a $1.7 billion venture. The growth is impressive for an entity that started simply because Alba, then an expectant mother, realized the detergent she was planning to use for her baby's clothing had chemicals she feared might be harmful.

Vanity Fair reported Alba began researching the detergent's ingredients. She was shocked to find ingredients labeled "fragrance" were actually harmful toxins, particularly dangerous to young children.

With that, the star began channeling all her thoughts and energy toward making "safe and effective consumer products that were beautifully designed, accessibly priced, and easy to get."

In time, she even went before Congress to promote her mission. Long an advocate for the Safe Chemicals Act, she eventually testified on Capitol Hill in 2011 in support of the bill.

Despite all the apparent success, Alba's product empire has not come without its challenges. The Honest Company beauty division currently faces a class-action lawsuit, in which plaintiffs allege the company "deceptively and misleadingly" labeled and marketed its products as "natural."

Prior to that suit, many customers also expressed outrage on various social media platforms, claiming that the company's sunscreen line is also ineffective.

Alba and the brand have continued to stand behind their products in both instances.
