There is a reason why only men play American football, and what goes on in the field is something fairly associated with it. Referees could miss some calls but one thing that officials certainly cannot do is gauge the degree of sacks made particularly on quarterbacks.

Antonio Smith of the Denver Broncos took a swipe at the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, calling him a crybaby for frequently giving referees a stare when he is sacked and complaining about the hits he gets.

Smith has taken notice of Brady’s body language each time, and such has led him to say that Brady complains a lot on calls going his way.

"Every time he gets sacked, he looks at the ref like, 'You see him sack me? Was that supposed to happen? He did it a little hard. Please throw a 15-yard penalty on him. Get him fined," says Smith via ESPN.

Regardless, Smith seems to understand that all these are included in the tactic that Brady plays. He could be playing mind games with the refs or the opposing player when he complains, but the thing is that the defensive lineman knows it will take more than a hard hit to rattle the Patriots star quarterback.

"With Brady, he's a great competitor. You know it's coming. He's going to cry about getting hit, but he's going to take the hit and keep going."

Aside from Brady, there is another Patriot who is drawing lot of attention as well – Rob Gronkowski.

The whole issue revolved around how the Broncos would be able to check the Patriots’ tight end. Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. responded by saying in a separate report via ESPN:

"You gotta hit him low, man. Hit him in his knees. That's the best chance you got of hitting him."

It didn’t take long for Gronkowski to respond to that via Twitter though.

After the tight end’s tweet, Denver would later on tweet: "The low down on defending @Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski".

In reality, the low blow is believed to be referring to the fact that Gronkowski has had a history of knee problems. He tore his ACL and MCL back in 2013 against the current Bronco safety T.J. Ward.

In November, he hurt his knee again against the Broncos when he got a low hit courtesy of Darian Stewart. Therefore, Gronkowski is one player who has had his history against the Broncos.

The Patriots and the Broncos face off in the AFC Championship game on Monday, Jan. 25, at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado in what promises to be a dramatic and interesting showdown.
