Donald Trump reportedly recently talked about his wish to win the upcoming U.S. presidential race after attending mass in eastern Iowa on Sunday, according to the New York Times. The politician also joked about being the recipient of the sermon about humility when asked by reporters following the service.

Trump stayed for the entire duration of the mass at the First Presbyterian Church in Muscatine, Iowa, according to the publication The politician's presence at the service didn't go unnoticed since he was acknowledged by the pastor.

The U.S. presidential hopeful joined other churchgoers in the service, which reportedly lasted for over an hour. He sat in the fifth pew accompanied by Deborah Whitaker. The 59-year-old is said to be a Trump supporter and the mother of deceased army official Dustin Whitaker. Two of his security men sat behind him. Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and spokeswoman Hope Hicks both sat in the pew in front of him.

Trump reportedly joined in the prayer and sang hymnals. He shook hands with the people seated behind him and also generously offered two $50 bills when the collection plate was passed around.

According to The Washington Post, Rev. Dr. Pam Saturnia preached about humility during the service. She especially included the upcoming U.S. presidential race in her sermon and somehow made a reference to Trump's campaign against migrants in the country.

"Syrian refugees and Mexican migrants should be welcomed rather than shunned by Americans. Instead of feeling rage at Jesus that we have to share him, we are called to do just that. Share Jesus with the ones who need him," the Rev. Dr. Saturnia said according to The Washington Post.

Later after the service, Trump joked about the sermon targeting his presidential campaign. He mentioned learning about humility from the sermon during Sunday's rally.

"I don't know if that was aimed at me, perhaps," he jokingly said.

However, backstage Trump turned serious, according to the New York Times. He told reporters that he has "more humility than people think." He also talked about the U.S. presidential race and his desire to win the elections.

"I mean, I wanna win Iowa. I really wanna win," he said according to the New York Times report.

Trump also admitted that although the poll results show him winning, it still doesn't guarantee his victory in the elections. Instead, what matters is the final count in the U.S. presidential elections.
