Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Super Bowl 50: Instant Analysis
The Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers will meet in Super Bowl 50. There is no room for a Cinderella team or upsets this year. It is the No. 1 seed from the NFC against the No. 1 seed from the AFC. Both of these teams deserve to be here, and it looks like we are going to have an exciting game two weeks from now.
Both the Broncos and Panthers come in with an elite defensive squad. Wade Phillips has done a phenomenal job with the Broncos this year. The Broncos defense ranks near the top in almost every major category. They are No. 1 in yards given up and No. 1 in passing yards allowed. This defense is being compared to some of the all-time great defenses such as the 1985 Chicago Bears. Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware have been unstoppable this year at the line of scrimmage, and it showed off in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. The Broncos defense led the NFL in sacks this year.
Peyton Manning is trying to make history. He could be the oldest quarterback to start and win the Super Bowl at the age of 39. Manning could also be the only quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl with two different franchises.
Trying to stop Manning and the Broncos will be the Panthers. The Panthers posted the best regular season record this year, and they absolutely thrashed the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC title game, 49-15. The Panthers do not have elite wide receivers, but they do have arguably the best tight end in the game in Greg Olsen. Cam Newton is going to have be very mobile to avoid that Broncos pass rush. The X factor for the Panthers will be Ted Ginn Jr. Ginn does not have the best hands, but he is a big deep threat to have on the roster. Ginn also makes plays on special teams.
Only time will tell who finishes on top and wins Super Bowl 50.
