iOS 9.2 Jailbreak Tool Coming Soon?
There has not been a jailbreak tool since iOS 9, but it looks like a tool for iOS 9.2 could be coming out very soon.
The next version of Apple's iOS operating system will be iOS 9.3 and the jailbreak community has had months to work on a jailbreak tool for iOS 9.2. It is just a matter of time before that tool is released from either the Pangu or the TaiG jailbreak team, Gotta Be Mobile reports.
Quick Jailbreak, Quick Patch
iOS 9 was jailbroken very quickly after its public release. It took about a month for iOS 9 to be jailbroken and a jailbreak tool was available in October. However, the exploits that were found in iOS 9 were patched up just a week later with iOS 9.1.
After iOS 9.1 was released, iOS 9.2 and iOS 9.2.1 were released and there still has been no jailbreak tool for any of these versions of iOS. There have been rumors that an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool was coming, but there was no confirmation.
Pangu or TaiG Could Help the Public
An individual developer has discovered a possible jailbreak to iOS 9.2, but does not plan to share it with the public. The jailbreak community is relying on either Pangu or TaiG to provide a public jailbreak tool.
It is highly unlikely that Pangu or TaiG will wait until iOS 9.3 is released to unveil an iOS 9.2 jailbreak.
iOS 9.2.1 is probably the last version of iOS 9.2 before iOS 9.3 is released. This means that Pangu or TaiG is very close to releasing an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool. Since iOS 9.2.1 did have some security fixes from iOS 9.2, the jailbreak tool might only be compatible with iOS 9.2 and not iOS 9.2.1.
If users are still operating their iOS device with the iOS 9 jailbreak tool, they should not upgrade to iOS 9.2 or iOS 9.2.1 because they would lose their jailbreak capabilities. Until a public jailbreak is released for iOS 9.2, users who have the iOS 9 jailbreak tool should stay on iOS 9.
