Snooki to Star on Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Celebrity Apprentice'
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has made the cut for Season 8 of "The Celebrity Apprentice," the first season the show will air with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Donald Trump's replacement.
Entertainment Weekly reports the former "Jersey Shore" star is set to join a cast that also includes Grammy-winning musician Boy George, Wilson Phillips member Carnie Wilson and "Saturday Night Live" alumnus Jon Lovitz.
Rounding out the field of competitors are boxing champ Laila Ali, actress Brooke Burke-Charvet, NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, "America Ninja Warrior" host Matt Iseman, former "Big Morning Buzz Live" host Carrie Keagan, Olympic gold medalist Lisa Leslie, Mötley Crüe member Vince Neil, Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams and "Real Housewives" stars Kyle Richards and Porsha Williams.
It's been an eventful several months for the former "Jersey Shore" star, whose husband, Jionni LaValle, was recently implicated in the Ashley Madison scandal. TV Guide reported LaValle's email address was among those linked to accounts for the website, which facilitated extramarital affairs.
At the time, Polizzi and her husband had only been married a short time. The couple have two young children together.
As for Schwarzenegger, the former "Terminator" star insists he couldn't be more excited about his new NBC gig.
"I have always been a huge fan of 'The Celebrity Apprentice' and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork," he said in a statement.
While the final decision for who goes and who stays in each episode will be made by Schwarzenegger, the star will have the help of a consulting team that includes Warren Buffett, Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, Tyra Banks, Jessica Alba, and nephew Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger.
The premiere date for this season has not yet been announced.
Trump, meanwhile, has moved on to the world of politics, where a recent CNN poll shows him leading a crowded field of Republican candidates for the 2016 presidential nomination heading into next month's first critical Iowa caucus.
