When WhatsApp recently announced that the application is available for free, the company has also hinted that they will earn their revenue by the help of larger corporations such as banks and airlines. Now, according to TNooz, travel brands are apparently observing how WhatsApp and its affiliate Facebook Messenger actually work.

According to the outlet, with WhatsApp maintaining its stand not to take any type of advertisement even after they have removed the fees, corporate brands are slowly creeping through the app. This year, Starwood Hotels started using WhatsApp to cater to their customers' needs during their stay.

David Marcus of Facebook explained the extent of such messaging app saying, "Once you interact with a business, you open a thread that will stay forever. You never lose context, and the business never loses context about who you are and your past purchases. It removes all the friction."

In another post by TNooz, Starwood Marketing Vice President Daniel Kerzner expressed his thoughts about the WhatsApp application being integrated into their business. Kerzner said that it takes only about a minute before their clients get a response.

He explained, "It was this or nothing if we wanted to provide a service on Whatsapp for our guests. Now we're figuring out how we do a better job plugging it in. But, if we waited for that we never would have launched it."

He also said that the hotel's staff members share an iPad where they can screen all incoming requests from their clients.

Meanwhile, a report from SlashGear revealed how a third party group was able to create a video chat on WhatsApp called BOOYAH.

BOOYAH requires you to connect to your WhatsApp account, where you can start video chatting to a friend or group of friends. Dany Fishel, CEO of Rounds Entertainment, the company behind the BOOYAH app, said, "WhatsApp is the pioneer in group messaging, and therefore was the natural choice as the primary companion to Booyah."

The Android version of the BOOYAH app is currently unavailable, but those who are on the iOS platform can start using it by downloading it from the Apple App Store.

Recently, according to MobiPicker, WhatsApp released a new update under WhatsApp 2.12.419 APK. The latest update version didn't come with new features but was intended to enhance the app's performance by fixing minor bugs. WhatsApp Update 2.12.419 currently has a file size of 26.67 MB and has been downloaded by several users since its launching.
