'Extra' Host Mario Lopez Talks Rumored Beef With Maria Menounos: "MEAN-Nounos" May Be Replaced With Tracey Edmonds
"Extra" host Mario Lopez has been in full denial mode this week in regards to his "Extra" co-host Maria Menounos.
Despite reports of Menonous leaving the entertainment news show, Lopez claims that it is simply not true.
"No, I see her at work. I see her every day. She's not leaving," Lopez told Andy Cohen on the set of his "Watch What Happens Live" show. "No, until I don't see her there, she's there. She's on the show."
In response to Lopez's surprising revelation, Cohen replied, "But didn't Maria announce that she was leaving 'Extra'?"
"No, she didn't," Lopez clarified. "No, it's not true."
Well, that's odd.
According to Us Weekly, the 44-year-old Latin host appeared flustered on camera whenever Cohen asked him a Menounos-related question, thus fueling the rumors of tension between the two "Extra" co-hosts.
Despite the rumors, Lopez still claims that it is all false. In a recent interview with Fox News Latino, Lopez explained.
"Those are just rumors," she said. "She's still at work every day. We're fine. There is no truth to that."
Deny all you want, Mario, but reports state the Menounos has not been well received by staff on the "Extra" set. A source for Fox News revealed that Menounos is apparently "very difficult to work with, so difficult that she was known as Maria MEAN-nounos around the set."
"Her entourage was bigger than Mariah [Carey]," the Fox News source continued, "and on 'Extra' it took her ten takes to do one interview. She makes a thousand excuses. The dog has always eaten her homework."
Yikes.
Some relief may soon be in store for the "Extra" staff as Tracey Edmonds will reportedly take Menounos' place as Lopez's co-host. Although Edmonds is already a correspondent on the show, Hip Hollywood reveals that Edmonds got on the good side of producers after they tested her several times, and she may be promoted to become a full-time host.
We'll save our congratulation once everything is confirmed, but the change seems like a good move considering the drama currently unfolding on the "Extra" set.
