‘Dance Moms’ Star Abby Lee Miller’s $750,000 Earnings Revealed Amid Bankruptcy Fraud Case
The past few months have been turbulent for "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller, and it's showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Up against a bankruptcy fraud case, Miller faces even more scrutiny as it has been revealed that the dance coach has already earned around $750,000 with her hit Lifetime show.
According to a report from Radar Online, court documents have shown that the reality star signed a renewal contract in October 2011. This agreement allowed her to earn more as the papers stated that "she agreed to receive significantly greater talent fees... as high as $15,000.00 per episode for the fourth term of 'Dance Moms.'"
The fourth season of the show had a total of 34 episodes, including a special aired on the same date as the pilot. This means that Miller was set to make $510,000 in season 4.
The documents that surfaced also revealed that between the second and third seasons of "Dance Moms" in December 2012, Miller also negotiated for fees up to $25,000 per episode for the spin-off shows of the original television series.
A "Binding Deal Term Sheet" was also agreed upon earlier in 2012 for a spin-off called "Abby's Ultimate Dance Party," which had a total of 10 episodes and possibly giving her up to $250,000.
Miller was indicted with two counts of bankruptcy fraud, five counts of concealment of assets and 13 counts of making false bankruptcy declarations. She could face up to five years in jail, plus fines up to $5 million.
Trial has been delayed as the reality television coach has claimed to need more time to pore over evidence, according to a report from Deadline.
"Additional time is needed for undersigned counsel to inspect and review the material located at the FBI's Pittsburgh Office in order to perform a complete investigation of the facts and law before making informed decisions concerning the filing of pretrial motions," Miller's attorneys Robert Ridge and Brandon Verdream stated in a request from last week. They added that the team had not found a "mutually agreeable time" to discuss the materials in question with the FBI.
The legal troubles of Miller will undoubtedly have a great effect on "Dance Moms" as she remains a central character of the reality show. In a report from Fashion & Style, it was revealed that Nakul Dev Mahajan will step in for the missing coach in the next episode.
"I'm in love with Nakul. He's a breath of fresh air," Jill Vertes said. "He is just what our kids need right now."
