Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach Part of 'Inside Edition's' Super Bowl Coverage Team
Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is back in the States and hard at work.
After a week-long, homecoming stay in her native Philippines, she has officially signed on as a special correspondent for "Inside Edition" and her first assignment is Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco.
Wurtzbach posted photos to Instagram of her first day on the job, including a one-on-one interview with Denver Broncos star Kenny Anunike.
Late last month, Wurtzbach talked about the sense of pride she felt in winning the assignment and about how honored she was to be a part of the show's official coverage team.
"I am very excited. I think it's a great compliment -- I see it as a compliment because they wouldn't trust me with the microphone if they didn't think that I could do well or speak [well]," she said. "So I think that's a pretty good sign. So it's a great way of me connecting to more people, meeting new people and being recognized not just as a Miss Universe, not just as Pia, but also as a Filipina."
Wurtzbach's film aspirations hardly end there.
The 26-year-old beauty recently shared she has visions of one day being a Bond Girl.
"I might be the next Bond girl, who knows?" she said. "So, we'll see, that's the next dream."
The first woman from the Philippines to be crowned as Miss Universe in more than 40 years, Wurtzbach previously worked as an actress and model. She's also fully aware that many international actresses have previously been cast in varying roles over the history of the franchise.
Besides her Super Bowl assignment, Wurtzbach remains hard at work on her many charitable endeavors, including fighting the continued spread of HIV and AIDS in her homeland.
"I'm using the attention to talk about my causes," she said. "Now, I have everybody's attention."
