Chanel Names Kristen Stewart as New Face of Makeup Line
Kristen Stewart low-key style is well-documented, but the award-winning actress has always been just as on point in the fashion and beauty scene. Following a series of projects with the renowned French fashion house, she recently took her partnership with Chanel another step further as the newest face of its makeup collection.
According to a report from Vogue, Chanel signed the "Clouds of Sils Maria" actress to front the brand's new make-up campaign called the Eyes Collection. Showcasing her smoky eyes in a series of photographs, Stewart will highlight the latest eye make-up of Chanel in the campaign that's set to launch in March.
"Chanel is pleased to announce that American actress Kristen Stewart is the new face of its 2016 EYES COLLECTION campaign, photographed by Mario Testino and scheduled to break in March 2016," the luxury brand said in an official statement from Hollywood Life. "With her modern, magnetic beauty, and free spirit, Stewart appears in a series of portraits embodying various facets of the contemporary Chanel woman."
Stewart will join other high-profile beauties of Chanel Make-Up, including Gisele Bundchen for Les Beiges and Keira Knightley for the Rouge Coco lipsticks.
The 25-year-old actress has been a long-time muse of Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld, often seen in front rows of fashion shows and appearing in multiple campaigns for the brand.
According to a report from Luxury Daily, Stewart has represented the Chanel for the Metires d'Art Paris-Dallas collection and the handbag collection. She also portrayed founder Coco Chanel in a short film directed by Lagerfeld in 2015 called "Once and Forever."
In an interview with Vogue for the short film, Stewart expressed her amazement at Lagerfeld's work as a director, praising his confidence and nature in cinema. Despite her everyday street-style cool, her fascination with the Chanel pieces she donned during the shoot was apparent as she said, "The vintage couture pieces were jaw-dropping. I could feel the history with every step. To look through the archives is one enormous privilege, but to actually feel them . . . wear them . . . hold them . . . it's priceless."
Stewart's latest partnership with Chanel further refutes the reports suggesting the fashion house is threatening to drop the actress if she doesn't lose weight. An earlier report from Gossip Cop revealed that sources close to both Stewart and Chanel has told them that the rumors are "beyond untrue."
