Selena Gomez Leads Kids Choice Awards Nominations
Selena Gomez's four overall nominations make her the leading 2016 Kids Choice Awards nominee.
For her work in "Hotel Transylvania," the 23-year-old "Come Get It" singer is nominated for Favorite Voice From an Animated Movie. She also joins ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and best friend Taylor Swift with her three other nominations in the area of music.
The Daily Mail reports the three musicians will go head to head for top honors in the category of Favorite Collaboration. Gomez is nominated for her smash hit "Good For You," featuring A$AP Rocky. Swift's "Bad Blood" with Kendrick Lamar and Bieber's "Where Are U Now," featuring Skrillex and Diplo, are also in contention.
Gomez is also nominated alongside Adele, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor and Nicki Minaj for Favorite Female Singer.
Gomez also appears to be on the verge of a big breakthrough in her film career. She recently spent time hanging out with Brad Pitt at a Golden Globe awards after-party. Word is she could soon find herself up for the lead female role in a remake of "Ocean's 11."
Gomez previously worked with Pitt in the film "The Big Short," and he walked away so impressed by her work he now reportedly plans to make her into Hollywood's new "it" girl.
"He thinks Selena would be a perfect fit for the Ocean's 11 female remake," a source added of the Oscar-nominated star. "He's not producing the film but has close ties with the film's director Gary Ross."
The Kids Choice Awards will be handed out in a ceremony televised live on Nickelodeon from the Forum in Inglewood, California. Voting is now open.
Meanwhile, Gomez and Bieber have had an off-and-on relationship for several years. After a rumored fling with One Direction's Niall Horan, Gomez has most recently been romantically linked with businessman Samuel Krost, Hollywood Life reports.
