Real Madrid Star Cristiano Ronaldo Eyes $23.5M Trump Tower Apartment?
Cristiano Ronaldo is rumored to be entertaining thoughts of investing in a $23 million Trump Tower property.
According to TMZ, just months after moving into his $18.5 million pad that sits in the same building, the Real Madrid star is now interested in the property just a few floors up but that comes with some 1,200 square feet of more space.
Ronaldo only moved into his current, 2,500 square foot abode back in August, but his representatives have wasted little time in now making his interest known in the 63rd floor apartment once occupied by Donald Trump's parents.
Competition for the masterpiece unit is rumored to be fierce, with several other high profile people having also already made their interest known. Still, some are convinced Ronaldo might have a leg up because he already lives in the apartment building and the vetting process for the property, led by The Donald himself, is expected to be exhausting.
No matter how it all turns out, Ronaldo seems assured of living the high life.
The New York Posts has reported his current apartment is the one "50 Shades" novel author E.L. James used a model for the bachelor pad of her fictional character Christian Grey.
Ronaldo purchased the Fifth Avenue loft from Italian real estate entrepreneur Alessandro Proto, whose life James is believed to have largely based her "50 Shades" leading man on. In the business world, he reportedly has brokered deals for homes for the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Madonna, Brad Pitt and Prince William.
The property investment marked the first for the three-time World Player of the Year here in the States. Though under contract with Real Madrid through 2018, rumors abound Ronaldo has now turned his eye toward playing here in the America Major League Soccer league.
The New York City FC or the Red Bulls are rumored to be among his top considerations.
