'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Episode 13 Clips Feature Guest Star June Squibb [Watch]
Fans will finally meet Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) grandmother for the very first time in Thursday's all-new episode of "The Big Bang Theory," when June Squibb guest stars.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Academy Award nominee Squibb has been tapped to play Sheldon's "Meemaw," who is often referenced on the show. Despite Sheldon's excitement to spend time with his grandmother, the trailer video for the episode reveals that she will clash with his girlfriend Amy (Mayim Bialik).
"Okay, let you and me get something straight," Meemaw tells Amy, "I don't like you very much."
Amy very politely responds by telling her that she will like her once they get to know one another.
Meemaw coldly snaps back, "You better hope so!"
The sneak peek of the episode also shows Sheldon reading a letter written by his grandmother, in which she says that she plans to pay him visit. In the clip, he describes her as "the kindest, sweetest woman you'll ever meet - unless you're a gopher digging up her vegetable garden. In that case you can expect to have your head bashed in with a shovel."
Another teaser video shows Meemaw being overly protective of Sheldon and highly critical of Amy.
A third clip shows Raj (Kunal Nayyar) second guessing his relationship with Emily (Laura Spencer) after meeting an intriguing woman named Claire, played by guest star Alessandra Torresani. Raj admits to his friends that he was flirting with Claire and agreed to help her with a screenplay. However, he seems to be curious about exploring a deeper relationship with her.
According to KsiteTV, the synopsis for the episode reads, "Sheldon's thrilled when his Meemaw comes to visit, but his excitement quickly fades when she butts heads with Amy. Also, Raj meets a new girl at the comic book store who makes him question his relationship with Emily."
Season 9, Episode 13, "The Meemaw Materialization," will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
