"Quantico" has skyrocketed to the top because of the memorable -- and mysterious -- characters onscreen and the new additions to the roster look to be just as deliciously complicated as the fan favorites of the first half of season one.

Much to the chagrin of fans, actress Priyanka Chopra has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that not all of the characters will be making it out of the devastating explosion alive next season. She said, "There will be people who you know who won't be a part of this anymore and that will affect Alex and her friends in a huge way."

With the tragic losses will come a handful of gains, though. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, three new cast members are set to be introduced in the upcoming second half of "Quantico" season one: Will Olsen (Jay Armstrong Johnson), Iris Chang (Li Jun Li) and Drew Perales (Lenny Platt). All three are part of the class ahead of the original "Quantico" cast.

Executive producers Josh Safran and Jake Coburn shared more about the different characters entering the scene calling the brainy Olsen "socially awkward" who finds relations with other people difficult -- even more so than Simon (Tate Ellington). His friends are reportedly protective of him. Previously an employee at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he is likely to have a brilliant mind despite his demeanor.

Shanghai native and businesswomen Chang is also not a smooth communicator but boasts a much stronger personality. Safran said, "Iris does anything for herself that needs to be done and really does not care about anyone's feelings whatsoever."

Wealthy, beautiful and fierce, Chang will find herself in conflict with Shelby (Johanna Braddy) who will find her cold and seemingly uncaring approach jarring.

Finally, there's former NFL player Perales who will lead the new trio as "a charismatic alpha", according to Coburn. Like Chang, his aggressive qualities will cause him to butt heads with the other alpha personalities in the original cast, particularly Alex and Natalie (Anabelle Acosta).

Fans might be concerned with the addition of new cast members, which could make the plot convoluted and detract the focus from the old characters. The producers assured that it's not likely to happen as the two timelines aren't going to feature as much of the same characters as the previous half of the season did.

"One of the things that have happened in the back [half of the season], which I think is a good thing, is that characters are no longer required to play on both sides of the story," Safran said. "It's almost like having two different shows that are tied together."

"Quantico" is slated to resume on Mar. 6 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
