Beyonce is gaining a lot of head turners and raised eyebrows for her recent half-time performance at the Super Bowl 50 where she performed her latest hit, "Formation," and reportedly displayed a very visible statement of "black power," The Economic Times reports.

According to the publication, although Beyonce was as phenomenal a performer as ever, she received criticisms for her costume and the clothes of her backup dancers who are all wearing black with berets and afros similar to the Black Panther party.

Furthermore, when the performers including Beyonce formed a huge "X" in the middle of the field, it reportedly breathed a message of a tribute to slain black activist Malcolm X, the news agency reports. The performance was speculated to be fully speaking for black activism and even a message against police brutality.

The news outlet further reports that Republican Congressman of New York, Peter King has spoken through his Facebook account slamming the singer and the message she brought to the sporting event. "Beyoncé may be a gifted entertainer but no one should really care what she thinks about any serious issue confronting our nation," King wrote on Facebook.

"But the mainstream media's acceptance of her pro-Black Panther and anti-cop video "Formation" and her Super Bowl appearance is just one more example of how acceptable it has become to be anti-police when it is the men and women in blue who put their lives on the line for all of us and deserve our strong support," the politician added.

Meanwhile, FOX Sports reports that the former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was also displeased with the performance describing Beyonce's performance as outrageous. "This is football, not Hollywood, and I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive," Giuliani said as quoted by the publication.

Furthermore, NY Daily News reports that although the performance wasn't directly stating anything in relation to what had been alleged by several individuals, the performance, however, included signs and symbols which are directly related to black anti-cop activism.

Apparently, a certain young black male was seen holding up a sign that reads "Stop Shooting Us," The Economic Times reports. This was speculated to be directly related to the current issue in the US about police brutality. However, Beyonce remains to be silent about the circulating news.
