4th of July Fireworks 2013 in San Francisco: Live Stream, TV Schedule, Map & Top 5 Places To Watch
The Bay Area is home to a wide array of great fireworks show. Check out this list to figure out where you'll be on July 4th. Curbed SF also has a great map of many fireworks locations.
If you can't make it out to see the fireworks in person, NBC begins its broadcast of the Macy's fireworks show in New York City at 5 p.m. PDT, or you can watch the live stream online below.
1. San Francisco July 4th Fireworks
End of the Municipal Pier and barges north of Pier 39
Price: Free depending on location
Best places to watch (from land): Aquatic Park (Jefferson and Hyde streets), the Cannery, Ghirardelli Square, other waterfront spots at Fisherman's Wharf, and Coit Tower. Or go off-shore: See below for boats that will take you out and anchor in the Bay during the show.
2. Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks, San Francisco
Price: Free
Although certainly not front row, Twin Peaks does offer a near birds eye view of San Francisco, and at such great heights you'll be able to catch the fireworks in Oakland, Alameda, Marin and more. Thermos and windbreaker required. Cross your fingers for no fog.
3. Marin County Fair
10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael
Price: $14-$16
Puppet shows, Chinese acrobats, photos with Star Wars characters, and animals, exhibits, contests and food galore. The Pointer Sisters, the Wailers and Eddie Money are among the concert headliners. Fireworks at 9:30 pm nightly. All concerts, performances and carnival rides are included with the admission price.
4. Fourth of July Fireworks from Angel Island
Angel Island State Park
Price: $24 for adults, $16.50 for ages 5-11.
Watch the fireworks from Angel Island State Park. Board a ferry from Tiburon at 5 pm, get food and drink from the island's café or cantina, and enjoy live music there from 6-7:30 pm. Shuttles take you to and from the island's best viewing spot, Battery Ledyard.
5. Blue & Gold Fleet Fourth of July Fireworks Cruises
Pier 39, San Francisco
Price: $70 for adults, $50 for children (5-11)
Blue & Gold Fleet boats park in the bay for the San Francisco fireworks show. No outside alcohol or beverages allowed; drinks and snacks are available on board to buy. The 8:15 pm cruise is non-alcoholic.
