Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei Says Group Will Release 2 or 3 More Albums Before Split
Rumors of a Fifth Harmony split have been circulating for months, and now Normani Kordei has dished on what the group hopes to accomplish before they decide to part ways.
According to The National, Kordei said the group hopes to release two or three more albums before going their separate ways.
The 19-year-old also agreed with fellow member Lauren Jauregui's comments to Seventeen about waiting to split until the group had won a Grammy and toured the world.
“We want to win Grammys -- so until we win a Grammy, there you go," she said. "After Fifth Harmony succeeds to the fullest of its capacity, one day we can go off and do our individual things because we are different people. It's all about the timing."
To prove that individuality, on Feb. 3 Kordei released a cover of Tory Lanez’s “Say It” and received praise for her voice, with Perez Hilton calling the song cover "her breakout Beyoncé moment."
“I feel that was representative of who I am and what kind of music I want to make for myself, beyond the group,” she said about the cover.
Since the initial comments made by Camila Cabello to Latina magazine that sparked the breakup rumors, the members of Fifth Harmony have each been working on individual projects and further fueling rumors.
Cabello took criticism from fans who believed her duet "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes was her way of launching a solo career.
Jauregui constantly shares her own lyrics on social media and recently received praise for her covers of Lady Gaga songs.
Meanwhile, Ally Brooke Hernandez recently partnered with March of Dimes and has become a face for the foundation.
However, the group is still very much working together. They confirmed a new album and tour to come this spring, as well as collaborations with Meghan Trainor and Tinashe.
