The NBA season has reached its midway point with the 2016 All-Star game in Toronto happening in just a few more days. However, injuries are part of basketball, and here are the latest news on the Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler and Memphis Grizzlies' Marc Gasol.

Jimmy Butler to Miss Three to Four Weeks, All-Star Game

The Bulls released an official statement via the team's website regarding Butler's knee injury suffered in the second quarter of the 115-110 loss against the Denver Nuggets. "Butler has begun rehabbing his injury and he will be allowed to engage in all activities as tolerated with the primary goal of maintaining his conditioning over the ensuing weeks," the statement said.

Chicago's Head Team Physician Brian Cole expects the two-time All-Star to miss three to four weeks with a strained left knee, but is allowed to do conditioning activities. Because of the timetable of recovery, he will not be able to participate in his second All-Star game.

According to NBA.com, teammate Pau Gasol has been chosen to replace Butler on the Eastern Conference team. It will be Gasol's sixth All-Star appearance and the second consecutive selection while with the Bulls. However, it's not all good news for the Gasol family as Pau's brother Marc is expected to miss the entire season with a broken foot.

Marc Gasol Out Indefinitely With a Broken Foot

The younger Gasol had been hurting in the past few games and an MRI revealed that he was suffering from a broken foot, The Commercial Appeal reported. It was unknown when he broke his foot, but the team announced that Marc was out indefinitely and could miss the rest of the season.

"Marc had expressed soreness in his foot. He responded favorably to treatment. It was examined and we found the fracture. He's been closely watched by our staff since the beginning of his career here," Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said.

"It's certainly not great for Marc and his family. I know he's disappointed. It's bad for our team. This is a tight bunch of dudes. They care about each other. It hurts everybody. Marc is a guy who lays it out there for his teammates and the fans. We're going to fight, scratch and claw," head coach Dave Joerger added.

The Grizzlies are currently fifth in the Western Conference standings with a 30-22 record and has the chance to earn homecourt advantage for the playoffs. However, it would take a lot of effort from its other players to replicate Marc's 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game averages this season.
