"Cool For The Summer" singer Demi Lovato wasn't too cool for her fans in her recent social media post, where she posed with her dog while wearing a fur coat, Us Weekly reported. The news agency revealed that there had been an uproar from the public when the singer posted the photo.

The photo, which was posted on Lovato's Facebook and Instagram, featured her donning a pair of black brassiere which she reportedly wore for her Allure magazine cover shoot, per Latina.

She, however, posted a behind-the-scenes shot where she covered her body with a brown fur coat while holding her pet dog, Batman. The singer and actress then received highly critical messages from her fans on social media, slamming her for wearing fur. However, Us Weekly revealed that it was still unknown if Lovato indeed wore a real fur coat or if it is just faux fur that she. According to the news outlet, some comments were direct and bold. "Sorry demi but that is disgusting! Fur is the most badest thing you can do! You say you love animals but love to wear a animal who suffert for your comfort?? This is not OK miss lovato! Sorry but you lost a lot from me," one Facebook user wrote. Meanwhile, another user wrote, "I love demi, but holding a dog and wearing some other animal's fur at the same time? really?" One commenter even said that he would be unfollowing the page from now on because of what the singer posted. After all the social media traffic, Lovato has remained mum and have not released any statement to confirm, deny or address the controversy. Lovato had been known to be quite an animal lover. In fact, she even took to Instagram once when one of her dogs died and took a picture of her new pet, Batman. "And even though my heart aches for Buddy, God did give me another little angel in my life and I wouldn't have him if I hadn't lost Buddy," she wrote on Instagram.

The singer continued to explain that the dog on the video was her new pet Batman and asked her followers to welcome it as she had in her life, even calling the dog her youngest son.
