Alex was announced as a DLC character late last year, along with other familiar Capcom characters Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri and Urien. However, it wasn't revealed who would be launched first. Eventually, all of the DLC characters will be unlockable for free through gameplay or purchase.
The Capcom team is hyping up the launch of Street Fighter with its full-length CGI trailer unleashed recently. According to a report from Endgadget, all of the characters available at launch can be seen on the three-minute trailer with notable appearances by M. Bison and Ryu.
Also newly unveiled are all the trophies the players will be able to achieve in the Capcom game, according to a report from Exophase. There are a total of 45 trophies in the upcoming Street Fighter 5, including the platinum trophy for collecting all the others dubbed "The Never-Ending Path." The breakdown is as follows: Four are gold trophies, five are silver trophies and the rest are bronze trophies.
The game will be making its way to the shelves soon and the fans aren't the only one anticipating the release. The team is just as psyched at the completion of this latest installment of the storied franchise. In an interview with Game Spot, Street Fighter 5 head Yoshinori Ono shared more about what the new game means to the team.
"It's like this ultimate cap-off point. In all truthfulness, it's kind of like, 'Oh my God, has that much time gone by?'" Ono told Game Spot. "The goal really isn't to just get Street Fighter 5 onto the shelf. Really, it's a new starting point where we're going to be constantly supporting this for the next six, seven years, like we did with Street Fighter 4."
He added, "With Street Fighter V, we need to get more people to jump in and enjoy playing Street Fighter."
Street Fighter is slated for release on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
