The New York Daily News reported on Saturday that a blockbuster deal involving Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Love and three NBA teams is in the works. The trade deadline is just a few days away and many teams are looking to improve their roster for one final push for the playoffs.

It is mentioned that the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers were in the middle of a deal with Love as the trade centerpiece. The New York Knicks joined the discussions with Anthony going to the Cavaliers, but the nine-time All-Star has to waive his no-trade clause.

LeBron James commented on the rumored deal that could possibly send one of his best friends to play with him and bring a championship to Cleveland. "It's false. That's the only thing. I can look at it and say it's false. And that's the last thing I was worrying about right now, and that's trade talks for our team," James told the media via Cleveland.com.

The report noted that the Cavaliers will send Love and the remaining $113 million from his contract to the Celtics by giving up center Timofey Mozgov to the Knicks. Boston will send a few of its prized draft picks to New York with Anthony ending up in Cleveland to play with "The King."

One high-ranking Cavaliers official told Cleveland.com that the proposed deal was never discussed and is a "total nonsense." The 31-year-old Anthony has been hobbled by knee problems the past couple of seasons and James feels for him.

"Obviously, it's well documented that Carmelo, Dwyane, Chris Paul is my three best guys that we have around this league. I felt for CP last year in the postseason, felt for D-Wade throughout his injuries that he's had, and then last year having a rough season and not making the playoffs, and I feel for Melo," the Cavs superstar said.

On the other hand, Anthony has also commented on the rumored trade and discussed previous talks with other NBA stars on forming one superteam. "I'm pretty sure I'll have that conversation with myself and my family and my team," he said. "But it's not a conversation for right now," the Knicks forward told the New York Daily News.

According to the latest NBA standings, the Knicks are at 23-32 and are five games behind the final eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are sitting pretty at number one with 38-14 while the Celtics are at 32-23 and good for third.
