Xbox One Promises New Game Exclusives Following 'Quantum Break' Backlash
In hopes of bringing back the trust of its Xbox One players, Microsoft promises new Xbox One game exclusives coming soon. According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the main point of having some platform exclusive is to really sell the console out of the players love for the exclusive game. But recently, that's now how it went for Microsoft and its Xbox One players.
In a previous report by Latin Post, after Xbox One CEO Phil Spencer received backlash when "Quantum Break" was made available on PC, he defended the company's decision by saying that they are after where the game will mostly excel regardless of the platform and "Quantum Break" would be appropriate for Windows 10.
That decision didn't sit quite well with their fans, with some saying that the CEO didn't even bother to ask players what they wanted. Now, Microsoft is trying to backtrack by promising real game exclusives for its Xbox One users.
In a podcast made by Aaron Greenberg on Major Nelson, he said, "Xbox is a big priority and a huge commitment." He also went on to reveal that the business of consoles remain to be one of their heavily invested priorities. His promise of bringing more Xbox One game exclusives also led to mentioning Xbox's performance during the holiday season.
Meanwhile, according to Game Informer, despite "Quantum Break" being available on Windows 10, it will not be sold on Steam. Greenberg revealed that those who want to play "Quantum Break" on PC will have to purchase the game directly from the Windows Store.
"Quantum Break on Windows 10 is a Windows Store Exclusive. It is one game with shared saves, the way that works is if you unlock an achievement, it doesn't matter where it do. It is one set of achievements," Greenberg said.
"Quantum Break" for PC requires Windows 10 in order to run. So regardless where you play it, be it a minimum requirement or its Ultra requirement feature, the game needs Windows 10 (64-bit) in order to function smoothly. Game Informer largely relates the Windows 10 requirement to the game's DirectX 12 specification.
Are you still a fan of the Xbox One console? What do you think will come out of Xbox One's upcoming exclusives after the "Quantum Break" incident?
