The midseason premiere of "Scandal" Season 5 already brought some interesting twists. But fans should watch out for the strange collaboration between the President's ex-wife Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) and his ex-mistress Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) in Episode 11.

In the upcoming "Scandal" Season 5 Episode 11, fans will see how Olivia desperately tries to get back in control at the Oval Office by using Mellie as her ticket in. But will the stakes be high for Olivia to regain her power?

As President's Fitz's former lovers start their plan together, here are 3 latest scoops we've learned so far in "Scandal" Season 5 Episode 11 entitled, "The Candidate."

1. "Scandal" Season 5 Episode 11 Synopsis

"Mellie seeks out Olivia's help but may not be prepared for what that entails, and Liz tries to convince Susan Ross to run for the presidency," the upcoming synopsis read, as per ABC. "Meanwhile, Abby and Cyrus are at odds when a profile piece on Fitz comes into question."

2. Mellie's Presidential Campaign

After enlisting the help of her ex-husband's former mistress on her presidential campaign, Mellie appears to need Olivia and her intellect in her team. While Olivia was initially hesitant to accept Mellie's offer, she realized that riding on her campaign is the only way to go back to the White House and become powerful, CarterMatt noted.

3. Mellie's Tell-All Book

Mellie is initially excited after Olivia agreed to help her in the campaign. However, she will soon learn how obstinate and blunt Olivia can be when it comes to work.

In "Scandal" Season 5 Episode 11 trailer, Mellie got confused when Olivia told her the secret she needs for the success of her book. In fact, Olivia was demanding Mellie to change a whole chapter and replace it with a different and more explosive episode.

She also urged the presidential hopeful to share why she decided to stay with Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) after learning of his infidelities and the mistress. Mellie was baffled to hear those things from the woman who destroyed her marriage. That's why she told Olivia to concentrate on the business at hand and leave their personal feud out of it.

Elsewhere, another female hopeful is eyeing the Presidential seat. According to The Futton Critic, Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) is trying to convince Vice President Susan Ross (Artemis Pebdani) to run for the said post. But the big question is, can Susan handle the pressure?

Since the previous episode showed Jake (Scott Foley) and Olivia's hot reunion, some fans are eager to know where the story will go, noting that he has much more power now than he has been before on the show. And who knows, there might be a possibility of Fitz and Olivia's rekindling of romance, perhaps after all the mess they're currently in.
