Roman Reigns came out the sole survivor in a grueling and epic match over friend Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar at the main event of WWE Fastlane 2016.

The event hardly gave any surprises, with most followers aware that the Big Dog would come out and win it all.

Despite the recent push on Dean Ambrose, who lost his Intercontinental title last week on WWE Raw, the WWE Universe hoped for a possible Ambrose victory.

The main event capped a series of matches, wherein most of the results were expected. It was only the three-on-three match that resulted into something different. The Big Show, Kane and Ryback overwhelmeld the Wyatt Family trio of Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman.

Speaking of the Wyatts, there was something fans were waiting for that never happened. This had to do with the rumored feud between Bray Wyatt and Lesnar that could eventually cost the Beast Incarnate the match. It never happened; so now, it remains to be seen if that feud will still materialize at WrestleMania 32.

Lesnar showed his overpowering dominance over the former Shield members, but the star of the night was obviously Ambrose. Despite the only participant who was giving away size against Reigns and Ambrose, he was the obvious difference maker with his never-say-die battle cry until his buddy pinned him once more.

It marks the second time that Reigns advances to the WWE title match since the two faced off at WWE Survivor Series.

Triple H came out at the end of the match to confront Reigns. The two stood face-to-face with the WrestleMania 32 sign above their heads, a match that bits the past and future face of the WWE.

With the results, there were WWE fans who aired their disappointment on the outcome of WWE Fastlane. It was no different from what transpired last year when Reigns took out Daniel Bryan to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE heavyweight title at WrestleMania 31.

Just the same, it is business as usual for the WWE who were not swayed by the negativity of seeing the push on Reigns. Like last year, calls for the cancellation of the network and boycotts to WrestleMania 32 were once again in the air.

For the WWE, the show will go on. There are some who claim they will not watch the spectacle due to botched expectations. But of course, there could be some surprises in store so it may be wise to leave some room for that.

Remember how Seth Rollins cashed in and stole the belt from under Lesnar and Reigns at last year’s WrestleMania?
