'The Originals’ Season 1 Episode 21 Spoilers: War Erupts, Klaus and Marcel Face Off in 'The Battle of New Orleans' [Watch]
Next Tuesday, The CW will air an explosive episode of "The Originals," which will feature a near-war between many of the main characters and set the stage for a shocking season finale.
To the delight of many fans, Elijah and Hayley shared a passion kiss in the last episode in the series. In addition, Father Kieran was laid to rest and Davina seemed to have joined forces with Klaus' dad.
Things will get intense in the upcoming episode, which is entitled "The Battle of New Orleans," as Klaus and Marcel face off in an epic showdown for control of the French Quarter. Plus, Klaus and company will try to alter Hayley's fate while Marcel will look out for the vampires, reports Cinema Blend.
In a video teaser, Marcel is seen shouting to his army of vampires in preparation for the big battle.
"If we don't take a stand, our lives aren't worth a damn anyway," he says.
Marcel also threatened Klaus, saying, "You'll surrender this time."
In another scene, Davina gives a stern warning, saying, "Klaus isn't the only thing we need to be afraid of."
Co-executive producer Michael Narducci dropped a few hints about what viewers can expect in the final two episodes of the season. According to him, Cami will face the "terrible repercussions" of Kieran's death, while "a new player seeks to fill the gap left in the wake of the priest's death," he teased, reports TVLine. In the meantime, Elijah will try to help Hayley fight her enemies, but Narducci warns that his actions might divide them further apart. As for Hayley's unborn hybrid, "the witches' plan for the baby -- and the lengths that the Mikaelson clan will go to in order to protect it -- will be a major focus as we move to the end of our season."
Narducci also revealed that the season finale, which will air May 13, will bring "shocking alliances" and "deadly betrayals" that will dramatically shift the balance of power in New Orleans. "Some characters will die, others will be changed forever, and by the end of the season, we will see a huge twist -- a new alliance that we've been building toward for some time that will help define what the series will be as we move into Season 2."
In an interview with TVLine, actor Chase Coleman opened up about what will come of his character Oliver, Jackson's right-hand wolf. Although he and Jackson agree that the wolves deserve to take the city back, they don't necessarily agree how that should be done. When Jackson first brought him the deal with Klaus, Oliver was like, "No way. I'd rather be dead than make a deal with Klaus." However, Oliver brought Cary to Klaus for the rings, whch Oliver really believes will give the werewolves the power they need to fight back.
The official synopsis below states:
"Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) enact a plan to collect the sacred stones needed by Genevieve (guest star Elyse Levesque) in order to forever change the fates of Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and the werewolf community. Realizing that Klaus' plan will lead to the extermination of all French Quarter vampires, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) rallies an army determined to take down the Mikaelsons and regain control of the city. Davina (Danielle Campbell) warns Josh (guest star Steven Krueger) to leave town as she is forced to make a fateful decision that will turn the tide of war. Meanwhile, Francesca (guest star Peta Sargent) threatens Cami (Leah Pipes), who attempts to decipher a code that results in a surprising revelation among the city's factions."
