'The Mentalist' Season 6 Episode 20 Spoilers: Grand Jury Reviews Red John's Murder, Considers Trying Jane [Watch]
On the latest episode of "The Mentalist," Jane stumbles upon a horrific human trafficking operation.
In "Brown Eyed Girls," Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) is minding his own business and grabbing some food when he bumps into a suspicious-looking man.
The man's groceries fall on the ground, and Jane observes that the contents of the bag are sketchy. The bag contains duct tape, women's toiletries and pornographic magazines.
Jane thinks that the man kidnapped a girl, so he calls Lisbon (Robin Tunney) about it while she's on a date with Pike (Pedro Pascal). She leaves the date to go with Jane to investigate.
It turns out a woman is involved, but she wasn't kidnapped. The man found a woman shot on the side of a highway, and he was trying to save her.
The FBI team quickly finds that the shooting was not a random incident. The woman had been kidnapped by a man who helping run a large human trafficking operation.
The girl had been trying to escape when 20 other girls, including herself, were being loaded onto a truck.
With the help of some girls they saved, the FBI arrests some of the human traffickers. However, they have still not gotten to the bottom of the case.
Meanwhile, word of Pike's offer to Lisbon to move with him to Washington, D.C., has spread. Abbott (Rockmund Dunbar) tells Lisbon that she should speak to Jane about it, so she and Jane have an awkward conversation about the situation.
On the next episode, "Il Tavolo Bianco," "A grand jury is convened to review Red John's murder and determine if Jane should be tried. Meanwhile, Lisbon wonders what Jane's reaction would be if she relocated with Agent Pike; and Cho and Abbot track some new leads in the human-smuggling ring."
